How you get up in the morning, the very first things you do and think about can and will effect your whole day.
These thoughts and activities set the tone for your day as well as the day for those very close to you.
Take a minute and think about how you get up every morning. Is your alarm clock a jolting buzz and do you hit the floor in a 100-yard dash like run? Or do you hit the snooze button and turn over grudgingly, for five move minutes? Or do you turn off the alarm buzz, sit on the side of the bed in a total daze, then do you stagger in a sleepy haze to the bathroom, thinking only of your need for coffee?
You see you have already started your day on stress overload! You are going to carry that stress to your family or those around you.
Try this experiment for twenty-one days (the length of time
it takes to establish a new habit). Get a different alarm clock, one with
nature sounds as an alternative to the buzz. Select a sound that is pleasing
yet unusual enough to wake you up. (I live in

You will find that you will clear the sleepy haze from your head quickly, your attitude will be more relaxed and positive and you will have oxygen-filled energy to start your day. This counting to ten and breathing is a quick form of mediation, which will allow you to collect positive intentional thoughts on how to manage your morning and the whole day.
